Baby Pillow Tutorial
Okay, it seems like everyone that has a baby now has a Boppy pillow. After seeing them in action, I do not know how I, or my children, ever survived without these miracle devices. Anyway, since the grand daughter will be here in a few months, I've decided to see if it was possible to make one of these wonder pillows. I was able to find a pattern on Pinterest @ https://sites.google.com/site/sewityourself/ this site's instructions were okay, but she only had drawings and I thought pictures might help those of you who are new to printing the patterns and actually putting them together.
Here's what you'll need to get started:
Scissors
Pins
Printer, to print the pattern
tape
1 1/4 yards of fabric
1 bag of stuffing
matching thread
Step 1, print the pattern and cut it out. It will print on 4 pages and you will have to cut each piece out, then tape the pieces together.
Step 3, I marked my pattern on the "fold" line, reminding myself to Cut 2 on the fold.
Step 4, Place the pattern on the fold and cut 2, one is your front, and one is your back, you can used different fabrics if you choose. For this one, I'm using the same fabric.
Step 5, After you have your 2 pieces cut out, place right sides together and pin all the way around.
Now we're ready to start sewing, but REMEMBER, you want to leave an opening to turn it right side out and to stuff. You will want to leave about 4 inches open, inside the "C" will be the least noticeable.
Step 6, Sew it up!
Step 7, turn it right side out (hopefully you didn't sew up your opening!)
I tried to get a picture of where I left my opening at.
Step 8, stuff it!

Let me know if you have any questions, or if you didn't understand something. This was real easy and could easily be made in about 30 minutes. Hope you like it!
I like your tutorial!!! I thought it was very good- who doesn't love/need pictures?!?! Cute pillow :)
ReplyDeleteTracy, Thank you! I agree, pictures just help you know you're doing it right....without them, it's like putting a puzzle together that you have no idea what it's going to look like when it's done. The hardest part is taking them, you get going and then think, "oh, I should've taken a picture of that!"
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by!
